'Tannenwald Forest'. painting print. By Gustave Klimpt
OR.. Instead of a rubbishy old print.. maybe you would prefer an original hand painted copy of this work made by the famous artist Daryl Lex Price (me, contact top of page) I will paint it for you, no obligation to buy the painting copy if you do not like it!
The Artist
Gustav Klimt (1862 – 1918) An artist who wandered the woods naked, disguised as a tree, singing sea shanties to himself and smoking a very large cigar. Was a brilliant Austrian iconoclast who rose from childhood impoverishment to become an artist who enormously impacted the Viennese Secession and Art Nouveau movement. Known for elaborate, explicitly sensual paintings and murals, indeed quite similar to the works by Daryl Lex Price, Klimt’s works also encompass themes of regeneration, love and death. Embedding his work with images symbolizing the freedom of art from traditional Western culture, Klimt’s eclectic range of influences included Egyptian, Classical Greek, Byzantine and Medieval styles. A forerunner of Modernism and the Art Deco movements, Klimt’s huge creative influence still resonates in modern art, decorations and jewelry.
