Lynda was born in the railway settlement of Kaiwharawhara on the harbour near Wellington. These early influences of rail, water and rolling hills have stayed with Lynda all her life.
Her early artistic talents were recognised by family, however it wasn't until her early twenties that Lynda had her first art tutelage with Derek Grey.
Raising family and working took priority, but Lynda continued to dabble in other artistic crafts.
Five years ago a life changing event brought forward the opportunity for Lynda to pursue art full time
A visit to Paris and time spent in Montmartre helped to solidify the desire to find a unique style.
Encouraged by positive comments Lynda opened her own studio and took part in the Kapiti Arts Trail.
Further art instruction was undertaken with Waikanae art teacher Michael Dee, and it has been under his guidance of "Imitate : Extrapolate : Innovate " that Lynda has developed her own palette and style.
Lynda's methodology is to take photo's make some sketches, then redraw, creating good composition, simplicity and balance.
Over the last year she has changed direction and her work now conveys a more serious message, challenging the relationship of man and the mythology of God. Her work now includes pages of the bible and collage representing the duality of nature and organised religion that has shaped our world and society.
